The recommended OS Fix documents have been replaced with a new utility that greatly simplifies the task of checking your systems or LPARs for the latest set of Vision Solutions recommended IBM PTFs. When the CHKIBMPTF (check IBM PTF) command is run, it will generate reports indicating the installed status of each of the recommended PTFs for your system and the OS version you are running.
There are two methods for obtaining the Check IBM PTF utility with the latest list of recommended PTFs.

Download the latest version of the utility at any time as a stand-alone tool. This may be useful for customers who either have not yet installed a Vision Solutions product but want to ensure they have all the recommended PTFs, or for customers who are not able to install the latest releases/service packs of Vision Solutions products. Instructions for installing the stand-alone utility and running the CHKIBMPTF command are available in Support Central’s knowledgebase via Answer ID: 45894.

Use the Check IBM PTF utility that is delivered as part of License Manager with each service pack release and updated with the product install,
