iTera’s Echo2 High Availability Named to Search400’s Product of the Year Awards for Third Straight Year

Judges cite product’s reliability and breakthrough record-level audit-and-heal technology.

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH (January 18, 2006) For the third time in three years, TechTarget's Search400 publication (www.search400.com) has named iTera's Echo² High Availability V4.2 software one of the recipients of its prestigious Product of the Year awards within the iSeries High Availability category. These awards are judged by the Search400 editorial staff, in conjunction with a team of users, industry experts, analysts, and consultants.

The winners of TechTarget's Products of the Year awards were selected according to innovation, performance, ease of integration into existing environments, ease of use and manageability, functionality, and value. The judges raved about a new technology included in this release – concurrent Audit Concurrent Heal for Echo² (CACHe2) – dramatically reducing delays between the discovery of a data integrity problem and its resolution. CACHe2 automatically discovers and corrects data integrity problems in real time at the record level. That process eliminates the need to resynchronize entire objects when an out-of-synchronization condition is detected, which significantly reduces bandwidth traffic between mirrored environments.

"This tool provides great function, with CACHe2 automating the detection and correction of data integrity problems at the record level," one judge said. "You also see a key performance enhancement by reducing replication bandwidth requirements."
